Here, you'll find the modules (with short descriptions) that comprise the framework. The functionality of BuildingBlocs may be extended with any combination of modules. Note that this is not an exhaustive list of the available modules, however it does contain those that are most commonly requested.
Ask A Question
This module allows for a website visitor to submit questions. The responses may be used to formulate a FAQ (frequently asked question repository)
HOPE VI Development Feature
This module allows PHAs to centralize and manage their HOPE VI development information for the public. Borrowing from several other modules, the HOPE VI Development Feature module allows staff to post background information in addition to site plans, renderings, updates from local media outlets, notices and other pertinent information for quick, easy access.
Public Housing Inventory
This module allows PHAs to list and manage their public housing listings, including HOPE VI and any other type of housing development available to residents. (Also see the "Mapping Integration" module)
Wait List Notifications
This module, in conjunction with the Public Housing Inventory module, allows staff to manage wait list notifications for properties. Visitors may check the website for real-time property wait list updates.
This module provides website visitors a few optional conveniences as they browse your website. Page tools allow for a user to easily email, print or bookmark any of the website's pages. Optionally, a dynamic page text adjustment feature is available. (This module is included by default with any install)
News & Press Release Repository
This module allows PHAs to post news releases and announcements to its website instantly.
This module allows system users to upload a variety of files for use during content authoring. For example, users may upload MS Word® documents, Adobe® PDFs, MS Powerpoint® files, MS Excel® spreadsheets, images and the like all from a simple form dialogue. (This module is included by default with any install)
This module allows PHAs to list and manage events. For example, public housing residents may review calendar entries to learn of events, seminars, workshops, programs and the like that are supported by their PHA.
This module allows PHAs to list and manage their job listings. Include open and close dates that automatically control the display of each individual listing. (Also see the "Career/Job Posting Application" module)
Career/Job Posting Application
Allow site visitors to apply online for career/job postings that are listed on the PHA's website. Includes form validation and privacy & terms acknowledgment. Additional security measures recommended with this module.
Allow residents and anonymous site visitors to submit maintenance or non-emergency request directly to the applicable parties within the PHA.
RFP/ RFQ/Bid Opportunities
This module allows a PHAs purchasing / procurement department to list and manage its open bids / request for proposals. Included with this module is a vendor registration function that allows for management of access to the open bid listings.
RFP/ RFQ Download Tracker
This module allows a PHAs purchasing / procurement department to track what RFPs are being downloaded by registered vendors. The option to make this information public to registered vendors exists as well. (This module requires the RFP/ RFQ/Bid Opportunities module)
RFP/ RFQ Vendor Notifications
This module allows a PHAs purchasing / procurement department to notify its vendor list of updates and changes to current bid listings. For example, if an addendum is added to a bid package, with one click, a system administrator can notify vendors via email. (This module requires the RFP/ RFQ/Bid Opportunities module)
This module allows for the integration of a local website search. Create keywords and phrases (meta data) that this search facility uses to produce accurate search results for site visitors.
This module allows PHAs to publish and manage their staff directory. The option to display various pieces of contact information with an individual listing exists. For example, name, email address and phone number may be the only information that warrants disclosure on the public website.
Board of Commissioners / Directors List
List and manage the PHA board members on the agency website. Include headshots images and biographical information on each board member.
This module allows staff to post 3rd party website links that may be helpful to the site visitors and residents.
Resident Services Activity Schedule
This module allows staff to list and manage activities specifically planned for residents of public housing. Included with this module is a user authentication function that requires residents to create a user name and password to access these published schedules.
Frequently Asked Questions
This module allows the PHA staff to post and manage a repository of frequently asked questions.
This module allows staff to attach any uploaded document to any public webpage. For example, if HR wanted to make available its standard job application available for download, this module would provide the functionality to do so.
This module allows website visitors to submit comments and feedback surrounding their user experience with the agency's website. This module is not related to the other customer solicitation modules, specifically the FAQ, Maintenance/Non-Emergency Requests and Ask A Question modules. Users may comment on topics such as ease of use, helpfulness of information and overall user experience. The module provides reporting so that the agency may have reliable user comments to substantiate any future changes and enhancements.
This module dynamically integrates Yahoo® Local Maps, Mapquest® or Google® Maps with the Public Housing Inventory module. Visitors are able to view interactive maps of public housing locations. Links to maps are automatically generated from entered property addresses. (This module is included with the Public Housing Inventory module)
